Named after retired Duke Power President, Norman Atwater Cocke, Lake Norman was built by Duke Power and hosts three generating power plants. The lake supplies water to Lincoln County, Iredell Co., Mooresville, Charlotte, and other towns in Mecklenburg County, including Davidson and Huntersville.

Tourists and locals alike flock to Lake Norman for national events such as the FLW Bass Fishing League Tournament, the National Softball Association’s World Series, the US Synchronized Swimming competition, the International Sport Boats Association tour stop and the American Bass Anglers Tournament, to name a few.
